What our clients are saying:
"I am sending you this note to let you know that I never smoked since our sessions. It has been three years yesterday. It is still puzzling to me that for so many years I was putting it off, afraid to quit, 27 years being exact! I found it very easy to quit.
If you remember, both my son and his wife saw you for smoking, too, and they both are doing great. This is truly an amazing help that you offer. Thank you and wish you the best. Maria L."
"You told me I was going to succeed, which I doubted very much, but here I am four months later, laughing! Next time I am coming for wining lottery...Peter"
"Ivona thanks, I hit the half a year mark without one cigarrette, which I never was able to do before. I don't even think about it. I truly appreciate your help. I am spreading the word, this stuff really works. M.J."
“I was one month pregnant when I saw you to quit smoking. After that one session, smoking was out of my mind completely.
Thank you from me and our healthy son. Bless you.
M.L.”
“This is great! ... I just thought that I would share this similar recent good fortune - until October 8th 08 I smoked a pack to a pack and a half a day (25 to 40 cigarettes a day) for 44 years!!! ... I had some sessions with Ivona and am no longer a smoker either ... Imagine the freedom I feel as a non-smoker!
I'm sooo thrilled being a non-smoker that anything I can do to let people know how instrumental you were in bringing that change about is good for me ... we ... all
Best, Wayne Copeland”
“Hi Ivona! Just a note to say THANK YOU I am now 40 days smoke and drug free . I hardly even think about smoking now.
Sincerely
A W R "

Smokers are not equal when it comes to quitting. Some have very urgent motivation to quit, and some just a very vague idea why should they do it; some experience kind of grief when they imagine themselves without a cigarette, and there are those
overwhelmed with the idea of quitting, or “who choose to stay smokers”.
An approach to quitting that is best for one person doesn’t have to work for another. It’s important to do it in a way tailored to the person's individual experience and circumstances. We offer a very comforting and personalized approach. What you can expect is to be helped out of the mindframe of a smoker, and to develop attitudes and true yearning for health, vitality, and joy of life.
For a smoker, a cigarette feels like an integral part of certain behaviors, like watching TV, having a coffee, finishing a meal, socializing, etc. The ritual of having a cigarette is incorporated in the sequence of actions of that behavior. When a smoker tries to exclude the cigarette, such a behavior feels unusual, and awkward. Having a cigarette seems to bring things to normal, calm everything down (- Kind of tricky with this calming effect?) So, when someone wants to quit smoking, it is like all "software" for these behaviors needs to be exchanged for one without a cigarette. There are hypnotherapeutic methods that may allow that.
When somebody tries for the first time to smoke, it is quite a task to convince their body and mind to stop protesting. It takes powerful suggestions to do so. Strong belief, that the side effects are minimal or not existent, and that there is a higher purpose for smoking, worth being served, no matter what. That is one of the reasons why hypnotic suggestions work so well to help someone quit smoking. They challenge the suggestions that allowed the person to start smoking in the first place.
The part of a smoker's mind, that makes sure (he/she) smokes, has no other goal, but taking good care of the person's important needs. As far as that part is concerned, that "higher purpose for smoking" is real and has to be taken care of. With hypnotherapy, it is possible to release that part from its responsibilities, and let it rest assured that its job is being done in a way free from all the side effects of smoking.
For some, the best approach to quitting smoking is to develop a strong aversion to a cigarette.
When a person considers quitting, very often finds himself/herself in a situation similar to that of a woman that is going to give birth for the first time. Usually, she hears lots of stories about everything possible that ever was difficult or painful for any other woman. Going for delivery, it feels like having a very long menu of tortures to choose from. It’s a very tough spot to be, and probably if she only could, she would just turn back and not do it. Her mental situation has very little or nothing to do with her circumstances, but that is the reality that she truly experiences.
Very similar thing happens to a smoker when he/she tries to inquire about other people quitting, horror stories go on and on, and on…And it really may feel like having to overcome all these obstacles to quit. And this is simply not true.
But it affects perception.
If someone doesn’t want to quit (being to afraid, or for any other reason), out of every other evidence around, he/she would notice that one person that is hundred years old, always smoked, and obviously outlived everybody else.
When someone wants to quit, starts meeting more and more people who quit easily, notices beautiful changes in their health, confidence, finances, and overall take on life. And yes, sees smoking clearly for what it is. All starts with fresh perspective and clear vision of what you want.
There are many techniques used in hypnotherapy to help someone become smoke free, either instantly or over a few sessions.
Ahijevych, K., Yerardi, R., & Nedilsky, N. (2000). Descriptive outcomes of the American Lung Association of Ohio hypnotherapy smoking cessation program. Int. J.of Clin. and Exp. Hyp., Vol.48, Iss. 4 Oct.2000, p.374–387
"During 1997, 2,810 smokers participated in single-session, group hypnotherapy smoking cessation programs sponsored by the American Lung Association of Ohio. A randomly selected sample of 452 participants completed telephone interviews 5 to 15 months after attending a treatment session. Twenty-two percent of participants (n = 101) reported not smoking during the month prior to the interview. Use of other smoking cessation strategies since the treatment session were assessed. Interestingly, only 20% of participants who used pharmaceutical products to assist with smoking cessation took them for the recommended treatment duration. Hypnotherapy smoking cessation treatment offers an alternative cessation method, which may meet the unique needs of certain individuals."
Barber, J. (2001). Freedom from smoking: integrating hypnotic methods and rapid smoking to facilitate smoking cessation. Int.J.CIin.Exp.Hypn., 49, 257-266
"Hypnotic intervention can be integratedwith a Rapid Smoking treatment protocol for smoking cessation. Reported here is a demonstration of such an integrated approach, including a detailed description of treatment rationale and procedures for such a short-term intervention. Of 43 consecutive patients undergoing this treatment protocol, 39 reported remaining abstinent at follow-up (6 months to 3 years posttreatment)."
Bayot, A., Capafons, A., & Cardena, E. (1997). Emotional self-regulation therapy: a new and efficacious treatment for smoking. Am.J.CIin.Hypn.1997 Oct;40(2):146- 56
"We describe emotional self-regulation therapy, a recently-developed suggestion technique for the treatment of smoking, and present data attesting to its efficacy. Of the 38 individuals who completed treatment, 82% (47% of the initial sample) stopped smoking altogether and 13% (8% of the initial sample) reduced their smoking. A follow-up at 6 months showed that 66% (38% of the initial sample) of those who had completed the treatment remained abstinent and reported minimal withdrawal symptoms or weight gain. In a no-treatment comparison group, only 8% reduced their smoking or became abstinent."
